Instructional farm

Horticulture section has 22.23 ha land at college campus of which 16.76 ha is under hilly area only 05.47 ha land under cultivable. Many forest species like Sassoo, Kashid, Rain Tree, Gulmohor, Palas, Behada, Mahu, has been planted around the road side of the campus by this section. On the hilly area dry land fruit crop Karondas have been planted by taking trenches across the slopes & on border side bamboo plantation has been completed.

During 2018-19 section implemented soyabean seed production on 05.60 ha. Section having irrigation facilities like well & farm pond (80 m X 40 m)

HORTICULRURE FARM PLANNING AND CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION:

• Live fencing of Karonda, Bamboo inside the chain link fencing for protection of farm.
• Live fencing of Bougainvilleas from outside the chain link fencing for protection of farm.
• On Roadside (Main entry): Royal palm, Fish tail palm and Fox tail palm should be planted intermittently along with evergreen trees.
• Alstonia, Ornamental Karoanda, Amaltas, Copper pod, Tabebuieia, White and Pink Chafa, Mussaenda, Coconut, Areca nut, Nerium and Hibiscus should be planted along the internal roads for beatification.
• Beautification of Central Administrative Building, Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel and Farm quarters with different ornamental plants with hedges, edges and lawns.
• On undulated lands behind central building and hillock;Annonaceous fruit crops, Jamun, Ber, Charoli, Tamarind, perennial Medicinal plants after terracing
• Development of a tank of 1 crore lit on hillock for irrigation system through gravitational force.
